I Have Arrived......

I received my dolls today! Here is one of them; a tagged Alma. She has a real attitude, don't you think?

To those who serve, and to those we remember, THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice.

You Don't Look Your Age!

It's hard to believe this German pincushion is over 70 years old! The colors are still vibrant, and she's in excellent condition! The pincushion is tagged "Made in Germany." Fabulous!

Was Nancy Drew a Flapper?

In response to a comment made to this blog, here are the original book cover and drawings from the 1930's Nancy Drew book, "The Secret of the Old Clock" and the boudoir doll that they commented on - mystery solved!

Love Affair - 1939 - "Wishing Will Make It So"

Two separate scenes put together on YouTube from the 1939 film "Love Affair," starring Irenne Dunne and Charles Boyer. Children singing "Wishing will make it so." This is a really good movie!

Photographer's Assistant?

I will list more dolls for sale, probably tomorrow night if there are no thunderstorms.

As you can see, I have an "assistant" or perhaps, he's the supervisor......I'm leaning towards Supervisor.

Rudolph Valentino - 1925

Rudolph Valentino 1925

Rudolph Valentino and his Isotta-Fraschini.

Rudolph Valentino in his Voison in front of Chateau Juan les Pins (his in-laws' home) in France.

This is my late husband in his Model T bucket. This photo was taken in the early 1980's at Calico (ghost town), California....yeah, I rode in that! Being the good sport that I was, I even rode in that to Las Vegas!

This photo was taken in the late 1960/early 1970's (the horrible lime green paint is a clue). My late husband had plans to restore it. After he died, I had planned to restore it. I was in the beginning stage of restoring this Model A coupe when I moved. So, I ended up selling it instead. It had a rumble seat too. Cool car. Had the potential of being super cool!

Here is a YouTube video, showing cars from the 1920/30's

Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn

Here are a couple of fun 1938 movies, starring Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. Above, is "Holiday."

Below, is "Bringing Up Baby." The embedding was disabled so all I have is a YouTube link:

Bringing Up Baby

Happy Birthday, Rudy

Today is Rudolph Valentino's birthday.

"The Awful Truth" Cary Grant, Irene Dunne 1937

"The Awful Truth," starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne (1937) is a corny movie, but it does have some funny scenes.
