Here is a Lenci smoker that I have that I love displaying with a Schoenhut piano.

Not Your Ordinary Boudoir Dolls

Here are some dolls I once owned that I considered unusual or not a common find. This doll's head has molded hair, and her face is painted to look like her eyes are closed. The rest of her is cloth. Her outfit is trimmed in mink.

The face is wax. The head is cloth with silk floss hair. Her body is cloth.

This doll appears in the Stephanie Farago book, "The Magic and Romance of Art Dolls." She is marked Modele Depose.

I used to think this doll was French, but I'm now believing it is German-made.

I used to use this doll as my shop logo.

As you can see in the photo, this doll's body isn't a commonly found style.

Gluckin face, all cloth body. I believe this to be a one-of-a-kind

Joao Perotti or Holzer & Cia (South American), this is a large doll, and once wore a very detailed and colorful costume

This is a sachet doll. She has a compartment in back for a sachet pouch. Although, I don't recall this doll having a sachet pouch in it, I have seen another doll with a pouch marked Prince Matchabelli.

This doll has a flocked head and hands.

Who is She?

This wax doll figure is of a 1920's film star. Which one, I'm not sure. I have seen and owned dolls like this one, representing a variety of stars like Colleen Moore, Rudolph Valentino, Anita Page, Marion Davies et.al.

So, who do you think this one is? Below, are a couple of guesses. I would love to get your opinion.

No Longer at This Address

Here are some more dolls that I've either once owned or sold for others. The doll, above, is all cloth. I love her hair color! She wears her original outfit. In fact, all of these dolls, below, wear their original outfits.

I used this doll, above, as my shop logo. She is quite wonderful. She wears a paint-on silk dress with metallic lace. Both her hands are embellished with rings.

This doll has composition hands, but is otherwise all cloth. She wears an embroidered Bucilla kit dress.

This all cloth doll has silk floss hair and wears an Asian-inspired pant outfit.

This doll has red wiry hair and still has her hairnet that a lot of dolls had at time of their original purchase.

This all cloth doll is very much like the first doll with the raspberry colored hair.

This doll has those fingers I love and wears a chiffon-like dress. She has silk floss hair in braids.

This boudoir doll is unique in that she holds a parasol. I've never seen another doll like this before.

Speaking of never seen another like it, this blue-haired Gluckin is more likely one-of-a-kind. If anyone has a similar one, I'd love to see it.

Here is another cloth doll with composition hands, wearing an embroidered Bucilla Kit dress.

This all cloth doll wears all black. At the time I purchased her, collectors referred to these dolls as "Mourning Dolls."

This is another doll with wiry hair. She has composition hands. She gorgeous!

Here are a couple of boudoir dolls; French and another cloth doll in the 1931 film "The Tip Off," featuring Ginger Rogers, Eddie Quillan and Robert Armstrong.

These composition and cloth boudoir dolls can be habit forming. You're never satisfied owning just one! That is how it all started for me. I thought I'd just have one for my bed. Next thing I know, I had 250!!! Since that time, I've managed to sell 75% of my collection.
